Day 164 – Painters Finishing and Other Fun Stuff

This week was dedicated mostly to the painters. They finished up the inside painting. They also painted the exterior front and back doors. We used Sherwin-Williams extra white for the kitchen cabinets and the trim work; and we really like how it looks with the repose grey on the walls.

We also ordered our appliances. We ended up going through Home Depot to get our appliances as we shopped around and they were able to give us the best deal on the appliances that we wanted, as well as free delivery on all the appliances.

On the outside of the house the excavator was back to work on the city required sidewalks. He was able to get them excavated out. The concrete guy will be back on Monday to set the forms for the sidewalks. They will pour the concrete later in the week.

Everything with the construction side of things is progressing as planned. We still have been battling with the city on the rain garden. I received a call from the engineer on our project and he is now saying that we have to re-do the garden. He has been wrong about a lot of things along the way and has given us incorrect information; so I’m waiting to talk with his supervisor next week, who has been much more helpful.

We are getting close to the end here and only have a few more weeks left. The electrician, HVAC and plumber are supposed to be back this week to install the fixtures!
