Starting Construction on Our New Oregon Home

We officially are underway with construction. Our start date was 7/24/18, as that was the day they started forms for the foundation. They poured the concrete for the foundation the next day.

Here’s a video of what’s been going on the past month. After the old house was demolished, the next step was to get the site ready for foundation. Rock had to be imported to create a pad for the new house and the corners had to be marked.

Once we had the rock in place we had a lot ready meeting with the site superintendent from Adair Homes. At that meeting he confirmed the lot was ready for construction and everything we needed to get done was completed.

Last week the foundation was poured. It took about a day to set up the forms and then a day to get it poured.

We have a couple of weeks before the framers could come, so we’re trying to get other stuff done in the meantime. The concrete guys for the garage are supposed to come later this week to fill in the garage with rock and pour the concrete slab.

Also, I talked to our excavator on Monday and he is supposed to come out this afternoon to look at setting up the rain drains before he can back fill the foundation.
